so here i am, chilling in new brunswick after a long week...it was my first full week at the office. i'm interning at this place called Fanatic Promotion, and it's good. what they have me do is really repetative which entails a lot of copying and pasting emails to hundreds of people, and it has to be personal, so i can't just copy and paste so simply, i also have to write their name which takes a bit more time and makes the process that much more tedious. however, they do have me do some writing which is always good for practice and my portfolio not to mention. also, i get to listen to new music which is also always good. the ceo of the place has a huuuuge music library so i can listen to tunes while i work. it's a great atmosphere: everyone is real young, my boss is real chill, no dress code, no facial hair code, they play music in the office and if i don't like what theyre playing, i can put on my headphones. so far its ok, i guess. hopefully once they see that i'm a good worker, theyll give me some other stuff besides some mindless tasks. oh, and its in new york, which is great. and i don't mind the commute anymore, i get to read the book that dave (another door guy from the wich) me. it's alright, its a sci-fi book that has a lot of jargon and is a little hard to follow. i feel its an advanced reading book, which is why dave likes it (hes an english major), and why i'm having some difficulty for it. but ill stick it out, i've read a decent amount for it and i shouldnt just leave it now.
speaking of the wich, i just got back from the bar a little while ago because i had to meet with robert (my boss at the bar) because he's giving me a barshift!!! it's every other sunday from 2-8. it's not a lot, and i don't expect a lot of customers during those hours, but still, it's time behind the bar and ill get some legit experience which is valuable wherever i go. so hopefully that'll pan out. i'm sure it will. i was ready to quit the bar recently, but i guess i can't do that now. and noah just started (last night) working the door, so thats refreshing, he's always fun.
i'm supposed to meet up with dave (my brother) this weekend in brooklyn. i want to go, but i'm just so tired from this week that going back into the city is just really not what i want to do. after such a long week of working (my hours at the office are mon and wed 11-430 and then i have class, and then on tues and thurs 11-no earlier than 6) the last thing i really want to do is go back into the city. i'm due there though. i don't know, well see. what's nice though is that i have a place to crash in the city if need be.
right now im watching tennis with my new roommate Fadi. he seems alright, a little dull and not somone i would normally hang out with, but cool enough to live with. at this point i don't have a choice anyway, so i mind as well work with what i've got. nobody else is home. eric was up north last night and hasn't come back yet. shane is working. who knows where alon is. same with ankur (the other new guy).
today is a muggy day. sky is overcast and i feel the same way. just dead and ready to relax. i think i need to start doing some creative writing and excercise my brain a little bit. the reading is good for that, but i think i want to write something long. not a novel, but a story maybe. i don't know, ive never done that before. i've only written articles for the paper, but maybe it would be something i would dabble in. who knows. it could be something nice to try....any ideas out there?! haha, i'll come up with something.
ok, i've had enough for now...ill be back soon...later

hey dudes,
so my name is danny...ive had this blog for a while now, and i just haven't done anything with it. so i read my friend danielle's blog and it inspired me to write in my spare time. hopefully itll be liberating or some shit like that.
currently im the features editor for Inside Beat, the entertainment section of the Rutgers Daily Targum. so i'm big on writing about entertainment things and usually focus on music, but the job title enforces me to write about a broad spectrum of things, besides reviews. features are kinda like timeless articles that can be published at any time, or trend pieces, or anything basically that isn't a review.
so i figure sometimes ill write just about shit that is going on, and sometimes ill put up some entertainment/music stuff if i feel like it...when fall semester comes around again and i'm writing for the paper again, ill have more stuff on schedule with the newspaper...well see how it goes
if you want to read some of my past articles, check out my myspace page which is http://www.myspace.com/doubleplayproductions and be sure to check out the blog...i dont know..i think im kind of an interesting writer..i try to use a lot of personality and voice in my writing...its very stream-of-consciousness, and a lot of people think its too informal and won't get me anywhere in my quest for writership in the future, but i'm ok with that...a lot of the stuff i write i feel very strongly about, and a lot of the time it makes me and my friends laugh...so if it only does that, then im content.
i love shitting on bands. i think its awesome...its just so much fun to really be creative to let people know exactly what you think through your writing..its such a rush to know that people read what you write. don't get me wrong, i love giving good reviews as well...but i just think its a lot of fun to give the old one-two to a band that really deserves it...i have no problems being an asshole..but still remain somewhat objective in a profession demeanor...i guess ive been lucky because Inside Beat is a really relaxed medium in which i can really voice my true colors really about anything..theyre very flexible on language and content..which makes someone like me fit in real well.
so i think im done with this addition to my blog for now...ive been at the bar all weekend (i work at a bar called the Ale N' Wich as a door guy)...but now im going back because Shane is working htere..so im gonna go chill there and play some pool...I'm gonna give Noah a call and see if he wants to go..and Avi said he was going to..so hopefully itll be a nice day at the bar
talk to you all later!
