so here i am, chilling in new brunswick after a long week...it was my first full week at the office. i'm interning at this place called Fanatic Promotion, and it's good. what they have me do is really repetative which entails a lot of copying and pasting emails to hundreds of people, and it has to be personal, so i can't just copy and paste so simply, i also have to write their name which takes a bit more time and makes the process that much more tedious. however, they do have me do some writing which is always good for practice and my portfolio not to mention. also, i get to listen to new music which is also always good. the ceo of the place has a huuuuge music library so i can listen to tunes while i work. it's a great atmosphere: everyone is real young, my boss is real chill, no dress code, no facial hair code, they play music in the office and if i don't like what theyre playing, i can put on my headphones. so far its ok, i guess. hopefully once they see that i'm a good worker, theyll give me some other stuff besides some mindless tasks. oh, and its in new york, which is great. and i don't mind the commute anymore, i get to read the book that dave (another door guy from the wich) me. it's alright, its a sci-fi book that has a lot of jargon and is a little hard to follow. i feel its an advanced reading book, which is why dave likes it (hes an english major), and why i'm having some difficulty for it. but ill stick it out, i've read a decent amount for it and i shouldnt just leave it now.
speaking of the wich, i just got back from the bar a little while ago because i had to meet with robert (my boss at the bar) because he's giving me a barshift!!! it's every other sunday from 2-8. it's not a lot, and i don't expect a lot of customers during those hours, but still, it's time behind the bar and ill get some legit experience which is valuable wherever i go. so hopefully that'll pan out. i'm sure it will. i was ready to quit the bar recently, but i guess i can't do that now. and noah just started (last night) working the door, so thats refreshing, he's always fun.
i'm supposed to meet up with dave (my brother) this weekend in brooklyn. i want to go, but i'm just so tired from this week that going back into the city is just really not what i want to do. after such a long week of working (my hours at the office are mon and wed 11-430 and then i have class, and then on tues and thurs 11-no earlier than 6) the last thing i really want to do is go back into the city. i'm due there though. i don't know, well see. what's nice though is that i have a place to crash in the city if need be.
right now im watching tennis with my new roommate Fadi. he seems alright, a little dull and not somone i would normally hang out with, but cool enough to live with. at this point i don't have a choice anyway, so i mind as well work with what i've got. nobody else is home. eric was up north last night and hasn't come back yet. shane is working. who knows where alon is. same with ankur (the other new guy).
today is a muggy day. sky is overcast and i feel the same way. just dead and ready to relax. i think i need to start doing some creative writing and excercise my brain a little bit. the reading is good for that, but i think i want to write something long. not a novel, but a story maybe. i don't know, ive never done that before. i've only written articles for the paper, but maybe it would be something i would dabble in. who knows. it could be something nice to try....any ideas out there?! haha, i'll come up with something.
ok, i've had enough for now...ill be back soon...later
